Mike's experience in giving to YFC is compelling.  He and his wife Connie are philanthropists. "Philanthropy Is The Act Of Donating Money, Goods, Time, Or Effort To Support A Charitable Cause, Usually Over An Extended Period Of Time And In Regard To A Defined Objective. In A More Fundamental Sense, Philanthropy May Encompass Any Altruistic Activity Which Is Intended To Promote Good Or Improve Human Quality Of Life. "(1)

Philanthropist Eli Broad, In An Interview Added His Own Passionate Definition Of His Philanthropy Vs. Mere Charity When He Stated Emphatically, With Charity You Just Write Checks, What We Do Is Create Things That Didn't Exist Before. (2)

I Like That Thought . Creating Things, Through Philanthropic Giving, That Do Not Presently Exist For The Good Of People. And This Is My Point: When You Contribute To The Work Of YFC, You Are Creating Opportunities For The Gospel's Infiltration Into Young Lives. The Innovative Programs Of YFC Would Not Exist.  If Not For The Altruistic Philanthropy Of Hundreds Every Year!

Eli Broad Added That The Biggest Challenge For His Foundation Is They Cannot Find Enough Good Charities, That Is Organizations That Can Be Trusted To Actually Accomplish What They Promise, Adding, "Lots Of People Will Take Your Money".
